Possibly the beginning of a serial brought to you by the talents of Callus, following the journey of a promising Jedi by the name of Zayne Carrick and his slide to a much darker journey. Zayen Narrative My name is Zayne, Zayne Carrick I’m a Jedi and I’m on the run from… the Jedi. I’ll tell you a bit about myself. I like most other padawans was taken from my family when I was very young, four I think, I had four siblings can’t remember their names. I remember a consultation with Master Vandar Tokare who said that my force potential was “marginal” I believe was what he said. None the less I was still sent to the Academy on Taris trained by Master Lucien Draay in the ways of the Jedi. I could tell that I was behind my friends, Shad Jelavan, Kamlin, Oojoh, and Gharn. It became even more obvious to me when I couldn’t even keep up with a black marketeer who was known as Marn Hierogryph or just Gryph, a Snivvian. But I finally caught him and locked him up in the temple. I never thought I would need his help like I do now. About a week ago now our masters sent us on a challenge of sorts to the rogue moon of Taris. The 5 of us were put on the moon to test our training by being able to get back to our masters. Now if you don’t know about the rogue moon it’s a nice place, exept for the almost constant meteor showers. The showers are so constant because of the fact that the moon orbits opposite of the asteriods around it. Our masters sent us there with the promise of Knighthood after we sucessfully returned to them. The only real catch was the fact that we weren’t able to see due to the fact that we were blinded by our blast sheilds. I was, as most of the masters probably expected, the last to arrive at the cerimony and was afraid that I wasn’t going to get elevated to knighthood, not to mention I was still having trouble catching Gryph. So belive it or not I almost had Gryph but I fell off a building and somehow ended up at the banquet for the Knighthood cerimony. I was actually better off being late. I found my friends dead with their masters standing over their bodies. They said they killed them because they felt “darkness within them.” I don’t know what they ment by that but during the time that we were floating in the asteroid field I remembered what a Padawan, Squint was his name, told me that he was passing through to join the fighting in the Mandalorian Wars. When I told him about my “lacking” in force ability he told me that “I was going to be a bigger player than I thought.” I told him I was jelous of him getting to go fight the Mandalorians, and asked him why he didn’t listen to the Council. He told me that “sometimes you have to enter the darkness to save the light.” That was probably the worst thing to say at that time, or mabye it was the worst thing for me to agree with at that time, as his master told our masters, Lucien Draay, Feln, Q'anilia, Raana Tey, and Xamar, that she sensed darkness in their padawans. So back to the story at hand. Now after my miraculous escape from the temple on Taris I was able to get Gryph free and he used his connections to get us to “Junk Junction” in the Lower City where we got a ship the “Last Resort” and some help from Perero and Jarael. We escaped the planet and made our way to into the asteroid field where the old ship stalled. I was foolish and sent a message to Master Vandar on Dantooine and was surprised that even Master Vandar, one of the wisest Jedi, belived that I killed my friends. He advised that I contact one of the Jedi Consulars on Taris. Well that Idea was going to go over really well, especially how if I showed my face I’d probably end up dead like my friends. We finally were able to end up on the rogue moon and we descovered a beat up droid called, T1-LB or “Elbee” who had information as to why the masters would have killed their padawans, and why they would want to kille me! It seems that Elbee had been present through our trials but he foolishly fell off a cliff. Then before I was able to get the information from him my master showed up with the Republic and captured me and my friends. So now I’m stuck here, a captive of the Jedi, and awaiting trial. I have had some time to think about the past few days, and my escape… | ![]() Callus Bo'Amar
